Roland B. Cilke, CPL, SR/WA, President and Owner

An entrepreneur in the truest sense of the word, Roland is the principal of White Pine Land Company.  He has created six start-up companies since 1994, spanning a number of related fields including oil and gas leasing, easement and right-of-way acquisition, title and escrow services, mapping services, real estate, and wireless network development.  A licensed real estate broker and limited real estate appraiser in the State of Michigan, Roland holds numerous licenses and certifications that add value to White Pine’s clients.  He is a member and holds the Senior Right of Way Agent (SR/WA) designation with the International Right of Way Association (IRWA); a former President of the Michigan Chapter of IRWA; a current member of IRWA’s Pipeline and Wireless Committees; a current member of the Michigan Oil and Gas Association (MOGA); and is a member and holds the Certified Professional Landman (CPL) designation with both the American and Michigan Association of Professional Landmen (AAPL, MAPL).  Roland holds two B.S. degrees from Central Michigan University in broadcasting and communications education.  (800) 968-7645, Extension 16

 

Art Watt, Vice President of Land Services

Art has an extensive background in all elements of the oil and gas industry.  He started as a Landman and worked his way up to his current role as Vice President of Land Services, where he manages the daily activities of the company.  As Vice President of White Pine Land Company, Art is characterized by the word “loyalty.”  He is loyal to his team and, in return, his staff and independent contractors are fiercely loyal to him.  He freely gives the company’s pledge of ethical dealings in all matters.  Art is directly involved in building successful relationships with our clients.  He has demonstrated great effectiveness in the recruitment of competent and professional independent contractors, resulting in the delivery of a quality product in a timely fashion.  Art has implemented training and leadership development programs that assure our clients are receiving quality services.  He has created a business development unit, which is responsible for finding new clients, thus expanding our ability to broaden our resources to provide even better services to both new and existing clients.  Art sets a positive tone throughout all of White Pine’s varied projects.  His positive tone clearly gives encouragement, promotes opportunity, and creates an effective, cooperative team spirit.  Art is supportive of the efforts of his management team, as they provide the quality services that cause our clients to be pleased, and White Pine to become a leader in our industry.  (800) 968-7645, Extension 21

 

Greg Anspaugh, Director of Business Development

Greg has an extensive background in business development and management, including real estate brokerage, real estate closing services, financial services and non-conventional financial education.  Most of his family members are involved in some facet of the oil and gas industry.  One member of his family is part owner of an exploration company and another family member is an oil and gas attorney.  For the past fourteen years, Greg’s wife, Dawn, has operated a company which distributes overriding royalties and working interest payments on behalf of development companies.  Greg came out of retirement to become our Director of Business Development.  He is responsible for locating new clients and new projects for our company.  Greg is a student of organizational behavior, and contributes significantly to our training and leadership development programs.  Greg relates easily with prospective clients and has prepared an excellent introduction package to help them learn about White Pine, its services, values and purpose.  Greg can be relied upon to share an accurate description of what we do and when we can get it done.  He loves to say, “We can do that.”  (800) 968-7645, Extension 27

 

Chris Hillock, Accounting and Information Technology Manager

In addition to his accounting and information technology skills, Chris has a strong background in title and abstract services.  He has a degree in Accounting from Michigan State University and has nearly fifteen years experience as a company controller.  Chris has been instrumental in the creation, development and administration of our company database.  This database provides control systems for all aspects of White Pine’s operations.  These controls seek to ensure the quality of the information, and ultimately the quality of the completed product submitted to our clients.  Chris is involved in nearly every area of a project, from accounting, information technology, and program assessment to project management.  Because of his considerable experience in project accounting and management services, as well as his gifting as an effective organizer, Chris has proven to be a valuable asset to our management team and a valuable resource to our clients.  (800) 968-7645, Extension 25

 

Samantha Strahan, Operations Manager

Over the past thirteen years, Sam has been intricately involved in most aspects of the oil and gas industry.  Her experience with mineral rights dates back to 1993, when she began her oil and gas career with an exploration and production company.  In 1998, she accepted a position with a brokerage firm for oil and gas operators.  She has worked closely with mineral leasing, curative issues, verification of division orders, production reporting, and all areas of oil and gas accounting.  Sam has an understanding of mineral rights and the values that can be attributed to such rights, and has utilized her understanding to appraise both producing and non-producing interests.  She has been instrumental in the development of systems for document filing and operations management and has contributed significantly to the development of our information database.  As the Operations Manager of White Pine Land Company, Sam provides the day-to-day administrative oversight of all internal and field operations, which includes interaction with clients and landowners, work assignments to contractors, and the daily management of landmen.  She has experience in building abstracts, filing division orders, royalty payments, state and federal applications for well and seismic permits, insurance for various special projects throughout the United States, and has developed numerous documents for the acquisition of leases, easements and rights-of-way.  Sam is energetic, capable and dedicated.  She is a huge asset to our management team and is eager to serve our clients.  (800) 968-7645, Extension 15

 

Jill H. Paterson, Title Manager

Jill has been involved in many areas of the title industry over the past twelve years.  She has had varied roles during her time with White Pine.  She began her oil and gas career as one of our subcontractors, where she spent several years traveling throughout Michigan, Ohio, Indiana and Kentucky.  During that time, she conducted title research and examination, determined surface and mineral ownership, prepared ownership reports, built abstracts and solved curative issues.  Jill was also part of a due diligence team that traveled throughout the country auditing project files.  She worked in-house as the Lease and Title Manager for White Pine Wireless (now known as Cellere), where she reviewed and approved leases prepared by the site acquisition agents, ordered and reviewed title work, and maintained the leasing database.  In more recent years, Jill worked in the title insurance industry, where she searched and examined title, prepared title commitments, addressed curative issues, mentored junior staff examiners, and maintained open communication with staff attorneys and underwriting attorneys.  Last year, Jill returned to White Pine Land Company as our Title Manager.  She oversees the recruitment, training and daily activities of all our title examiners and abstractors who work both in the field and from our home office.  She maintains regular contact with our clients to effectively respond to their ever-changing needs.  Jill’s broad experience in land title and mineral title, along with her organized and efficient work habits result in high quality title and abstract services.  She can be relied upon to give our clients the very highest level of such services.  (800) 968-7645, Extension 31
