Roland B. Cilke, CPL, SR/WA, President and Owner
An entrepreneur in the truest sense of the word, Roland is the principal
of White Pine Land Company.
He has created six start-up companies since 1994, spanning a number of
related fields including oil and gas leasing, easement and right-of-way
acquisition, title and escrow services, mapping services, real estate,
and wireless network development.
A licensed real estate broker and limited real estate appraiser
in the State of Michigan, Roland holds numerous licenses and
certifications that add value to White Pine’s clients.
He is a member and holds the Senior Right of Way Agent (SR/WA)
designation with the International Right of Way Association (IRWA); a
former President of the Michigan Chapter of IRWA; a current member of
IRWA’s Pipeline and Wireless Committees; a current member of the
Michigan Oil and Gas Association (MOGA); and is a member and holds the
Certified Professional Landman (CPL) designation with both the American
and Michigan Association of Professional Landmen (AAPL, MAPL).
Roland holds two B.S. degrees from Central Michigan University
in broadcasting and communications education.

Terah Larsen, Chief Operating Officer
Chris Hillock, Accounting and Information Technology Manager
In addition to his accounting and information technology skills, Chris
has a strong background in title and abstract services.
He has a degree in Accounting from
Michigan State University
and has nearly fifteen years experience as a company controller.
Chris has been instrumental in the creation, development and
administration of our company database.
This database provides control systems for all aspects of White
Pine’s operations. These
controls seek to ensure the quality of the information, and ultimately
the quality of the completed product submitted to our clients.
Chris is involved in nearly every area of a project, from
accounting, information technology, and program assessment to project
management. Because of his
considerable experience in project accounting and management services,
as well as his gifting as an effective organizer, Chris has proven to be
a valuable asset to our management team and a valuable resource to our

Joseph M. VanAntwerp, Project Manager
As Project Manager, Joe leads our field operations with over 15 years of team management experience. With a thorough understanding of our processes and procedures, Joe works directly between our clients, the White Pine staff and our landmen to insure all standards are maintained while encouraging continual improvement. With an educational background in business administrative at Ferris State University, Joe is very active in helping to streamline the communication and the flow of information throughout our organization on a daily basis. Joe joined the White Pine team in spring 2008 with a mind-set that was well matched with the White Pine organizational purpose. With extensive communication skills and a strong desire for perfection, Joe insures that the level of professionalism in the field and our service to our clients continues to exceed industry standards.

David Larsen has worked for White Pine Companies, since 1997 handling acquisition services throughout Michigan, Indiana and the Mid-West. David has Land experience in oil and gas leasing, title work, regulatory work, private, and governmental operations. David’s experience crosses over into the Wireless Telecommunications industry, as a Site Agent providing full “turn-key” land services from identification and acquisition of Sites through zoning services for Tower companies and Carriers alike. In addition, David has experience in the energy field, with experience with Wind Energy Farms, and Solar Collection tracks. |
David’s Responsibilities include: |
- Pro-actively seeks business opportunities that are in areas of interest to White Pine Land Company. Builds rapport with lessors, landowners, government officials and industry counterparts to enhance our commitment to be the Partner of Choice. Negotiates, prepares, reviews and handles a variety of Land contracts and transactions, including leases for oil and gas, wind, solar, and telecommunication, surface agreements, assignments, government permits, and zoning. He also is responsible for community/public relations.
- Coordinates Land broker activities associated with county, state and/or federal record checking for preparation of ownership and title information. Handles lease acquisition of private, state, and federal lands, as applicable. Attends municipal, state, and federal meetings. Orders and reviews title opinions, secures title curative and requests title approval for Land use related activities.
- Researches White Pine Land Company’s customers’ acreage and site position(s) and contracts to assist in project generation and reviews outside proposals. Reviews term leases and provides recommendations for lease cancellations, renewals, and rental obligations.
- Makes presentations to White Pine Land Company’s management, departments and teams, as well as potential partners, groups, etc. Assists and participates with engineers, geologists and teammates in the planning and preparation of various projects.
- Maintains Land maps and knowledge of White Pine Land Company’s customers’ acreage and Site inventory and Land positions in assigned areas, as well as monitoring competitor's Land and Site positions. Provides information for new development opportunities and offers ideas for Land strategies and Site locations.
